Scheduling

As required by law, pets must be up-to-date on their rabies vaccine before undergoing surgery. If applicable, please bring a copy of your pet's rabies certificate with you on the day of your appointment, otherwise, we will have to administer the rabies vaccine for $30 the day of surgery.

Surgery Restrictions are:

• Dogs must weigh a minimum of 10 lbs. and cats must weigh a minimum of 4 lbs.

• All animals must be at least 3 months for neutering, and 4 months for spaying.

• Animals cannot have a squished face.

• No dogs over 80 lbs.

To set up a Spay/Neuter appointment for your pet, call the shelter at 573-348-4411 and speak to someone in Animal Services.

Surgery Day Details

• Do not feed or water pets after 8 pm the night before surgery.

• Animal drop off is between 8:00 - 9:00 AM and pick up is between 3:30 - 4:00 PM for dogs and 4:00 - 4:30PM for cats, both at our clinic office (back of the building). Please don't be late for drop off or pick up!

• Pets must be in a carrier or leashed when they are brought in for their appointment.

• We recommend pets are up-to-date on vaccinations before surgery. If not, we can provide them for $30 each

• There is an extra $35 minimum charge for any animal that is pregnant, in heat, or with undescended testicles.
