*DAS does not advocate for declawing, mainly because it can not only be physically painful and lead to ongoing pain for animals but can also lead to behavior problems such as litterbox issues and biting.

MEET AND GREET AND ADOPTION LIABILITY WAIVER

I hereby assume all risks and hazards incidental to the conduct of the activities at Dogwood Animal Shelter. I understand that in handling and being in the presence of animals there does exist a risk of injury including physical harm caused by the animals or the transmission of disease therefrom. I understand that no insurance coverage for participants in these activities is provided by the Dogwood Animal Shelter. I hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless the Dogwood Animal Shelter, their employees, agents, and representatives, of and from the claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating to the participation or attendance of the Dogwood Animal Shelter whether such risks are known or unknown.

I have carefully read the MEET AND GREET AND ADOPTION LIABILITY WAIVER provided below and fully understand and agree to its contents.*

*This is mandatory in order to move forward with your adoption application with the Dogwood Animal Shelter.

By clicking the submit button, I understand there is an adoption donation associated with adoption of a pet and that it is tax deductible according to IRS 501(c)3 guidelines. I understand this donation will ensure the organization is equipped to rescue another homeless pet.
By clicking the submit button, I understand there is a 14 day period to return the adopted animal for full refund.
By clicking the submit button, I understand after that 14 day period if I return the adopted animal I forfeit a full refund option.
By clicking the submit button, I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Dogwood Animal Shelter against any losses, lawsuits, claims, injury, damages incurred by me or to any persons or property by my adopted pet, once adoption has been completed.
By clicking the submit button, I understand that Dogwood Animal Shelter will disclose any of the pet's health or behavior issues known by the above named rescue group before adoption is completed.
By clicking the submit button, I understand that if I no longer want my pet, or am no longer able to care for my adopted pet, I will be directed to surrender my pet to Dogwood Animal Shelter and provide transport to where Dogwood Animal Shelter deems appropriate.
