Meet Remi!

Hey! I'm Remi. You may have read about me in the Lake Sun the past two Fridays. I'm so excited that I get to be on the radio this week!!! You see, I got shot in the jaw several weeks ago and had some very scary, painful and lonely days before I was taken to Dogwood Animal Shelter. But now I'm getting good care and lots of attention.

I even had surgery to repair my mouth and jaw! Now I'm concentrating very hard on getting better. The vet said last week that it would be best for me to be in a home all my own to speed up my recovery.

But I'm still living at the shelter! I don't understand. I really thought someone would've come and gotten me by now, and would be loving me all better.

While I'm at Dogwood—for my safety—I have to be in a room all by myself. If I'm allowed to run and play with the other animals, I might get hurt and mess up my jaw. It's still a little fragile, you know.

300 other animals, 16 employees, countless volunteers, and I'm STILL lonely. Doesn't make a lot of sense, does it? Now you know why I've been looking forward to my radio interview: I get to meet some new people and tell my story.

My hope is that my fur-ever best friend listens to 107.9, The Coyote! I just know in my heart that you are out there somewhere, waiting for me like I'm waiting for you.

But I can't drive, so it's up to you to come get me, okay?
